sudden burts of life and seasonal circles

After a long hot and humid month, i'm still finding it hard to nottice any shift in the seasons. Everyday is the same dry and long, with the earth pushing the last of its energy into the flowers and crops, the soil around them left parched and cracked. September only brought one rain storm, giving brief but much needed water to the feilds, and relief from the heat.

I'm not sure how anything grows here, but i'm willing to give it a try. With the go ahead for a new art installation garden at the college thats exactly how I will be spending some of my last two months!

In other news,  whilst in one feild young rice seedling are being planted, the feild outside my studio has just been harvested... with the crop already drying in the heat of the South Indian sun.

Harvest and seed planting, mating butteflies, nests being built and a push of vibrant colour and plants going to seed. Its a confussing, wonderful place and somewhere i'm very happy to be.
